The Story
A modern reinterpretation of classic 1980s painter pants from a well-known workwear brand. The originalâs rugged characterâtriple-needle stitching and sturdy detailsâis preserved, while comfort and versatility are enhanced for today.
Side tab-and-elastic adjusters at the waist allow easy sizing without a belt. A button fly balances vintage style with a relaxed fit.
Made from high-density, dry-touch âdumpâ fabric woven with tightly twisted yarns, it offers a crisp, airy texture. Finished using the traditional Omi-zarashi technique from Shiga Prefecture, where the fabric is bleached in lye and sun-dried to enhance natural wrinkles and a soft, full-bodied feel. The crispness and breathability of the yarns keep the wearer comfortable even in hot summer months. Dyed using plant-derived botanical dyes.
- Color: Sumikuro
- Sumikuro: A botanical dye made with vegetable dyes derived from binchotan charcoal. Utilizing coarse dye particles similar to pigments, it creates a deep finish with a natural texture.
- 100% Cotton
- Made in Japan
- Model is 6'2 wearing a size 2
[How to care for Bengala dyed and botanical dyed products]
To enjoy the color fading for as long as possible, we recommend hand washing with a mild detergent.
The color may transfer to other items, so wash separately.
Do not use fluorescent agents or bleach.
Dry in the shade after washing.
The color may fade due to contact with citrus juice. If contact occurs, rinse immediately.
Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight or lighting may cause discoloration. Store in a dark place, not in direct sunlight.
Bengala dyeing is a dyeing technique that extracts dyes from minerals in the soil. As the dye is similar to minerals, it may react with metal detectors.
As the dye is similar to a pigment, it may rub against the skin when worn or transfer color to innerwear or bags.
